Staff Spotlight: Megan

What is your day to day like?
Mostly meetings—but no two days are the same, which keeps things exciting! I love days when I get to interact with students, whether it’s helping them with media projects, introducing them to loanable technology, or just helping navigate call numbers to find a book in the stacks.
What is your favorite library activity?
I love the coloring table. When I was in college, my roommates and I always had a stack of coloring books and a huge basket of crayons on our coffee table—it was the best way to take a break and de-stress.

What is your favorite part of working at the library?
My colleagues are amazing! Working with the library staff and our faculty partners makes coming to work every day something I truly enjoy, especially knowing we’re all here to support our students.
What is your favorite study space?
The third floor, front corner, next to the Fogarty Room—best views and super quiet!
What do you do for fun?
I love reading, photography, building Legos, and caring for my houseplants. I also enjoy exploring new cocktail spots in Providence and going on nature walks. On a cozy night in, I usually watch a good movie or play board games with friends; We currently have an epic D&D campaign.

Who is your favorite writer?
Right now, my favorite author is Jim Butcher. I’ve been hooked on The Dresden Files series—I started reading them in October and have already finished ten books! The mix of magic, mystery, and sarcasm keeps me coming back for more. #NoSpoilers
I have a hedgehog as a pet. Her name is Sprout and she’s 2.5 years old.
