NYT, WSJ & The Atlantic Subscriptions

The Phillips Memorial Library is pleased to announce partnerships with the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times and The Atlantic to provide subscriptions for all current faculty, students and staff at Providence College.

Note: Full text articles and Historical WSJ and NYT are still available and can be accessed through the Newspapers Research Guide.

Note: your “Academic Pass” must be renewed every year.

Replacing a Personal Subscription

If you have an existing unpaid NYT account set up with your @providence.edu email address:

  • Select “Already have an account? Log in here” and log in with your existing NYT username and password.
  • This will tie your existing username and password to the Providence College Academic Pass.

If you have an existing paid NYT account associated with your @providence.edu email account:

  • You will need to cancel it first, before it can be associated with the Providence Academic Pass (following the same process above). 
  • To cancel, contact customer care at the NYT: customercare@nytimes.com or 800-591-9233. 
  • As soon as your paid subscription is cancelled, the username will be available to associate with the Providence College Academic Pass.

  • Log in to your PC account.
  • All registered users must login to wsj.com from on campus at a minimum of every 90 days. Faculty and staff must click on our partner URL at least once yearly, in addition to visiting wsj.com from on campus every 90 days.

Access The Atlantic
  • If you are on campus, you can access it immediately. If you are off campus, you will see the PC Microsoft authentication screen. Enter your PC network credentials. 
  • If you are having trouble: https://theatlantic.com Click on “Sign In” in the upper right corner. Then click on “Sign in through your institution,” search for Providence College, and click Continue. 

    Note: Back issues are included with subscription.
