Interlibrary Loan

Students, staff, and faculty can request an item to be loaned from another library through a process called “Interlibrary loan” (ILL). You get access to many more items through interlibrary loan.

How to request materials through Interlibary Loan:

  1. When you locate an item in the catalog, you can select the “Request through Interlibrary Loan” button and submit the request form.
  2. If you cannot locate an item in the catalog, please submit your request using one of the forms below:

  1. Chapter and article copies usually arrive within 1-3 business days via email. Books and other physical items usually arrive within 1-3 weeks, but they occasionally take longer. You will receive an email notification when an items are ready for pickup.  
  2. Due dates and restrictions are determined by the lending library and vary by institution.  Requests for renewals should be directed to ILL staff at Charges for HELIN or interlibrary loan items may be transferred to your Phillips Memorial Library and/or bursar account.
