Staff Spotlight: Michelle

What is your day to day like?

I manage the archives team which is responsible for collecting, preserving, and making available our archival collections including college history, rare books, and other special collections of historical value.

What is your favorite library activity?

I love the button maker – especially when we use vintage PC pics!

What is your favorite part of working at the library?

Working with students and faculty to make connections between their research interests and our extensive primary and historical sources!

What is your favorite study space?

The Fogarty Room has one of the best views on campus!

What do you do for fun?

I make pottery and rent a studio space. I try to get in at least a couple times a week!

Who is your favorite writer?

I have been listening to alot of C.J. Archer books –

my commute is long and it is kind of nice to have a low-stakes audiobook to listen to.

What is something most students don’t know about the library?

That the archives are a resource for everyone; from historical research to creative inspiration, we have something to support your projects!
